Dale Steyn Slams Hardik Pandya: Former South African pace sensation Dale Steyn slammed MI skipper Hardik Pandya for being superficial in his post-match presentation. MI had one of their worst defeats of the season, losing nine wickets to RR in a match that was very important for their qualifying possibilities.
After the match, Hardik Pandya refused to criticize the players and dissect the problems. Instead, he used ‘safe’ words that didn’t land him in trouble.
“Overall, we did not start the game well, and they eventually outplayed us. After the game, it is not the right time to criticize the players – everyone is a professional here and knows their role. What we can do is learn from this game, correct the mistakes we made, and ensure we do not repeat them. Improvement is very important,” Pandya said.
“As individuals within the team, we must acknowledge our weaknesses and improve upon them. I prefer supporting players rather than constantly changing the lineup. Our focus should always be playing quality cricket by adhering to our strategies and avoiding fundamental mistakes. Cricket is a simple game, and the key is keeping it straightforward,” he added.

Dale Steyn didn’t take Pandya’s comments well, and he lashed at Pandya on X.
“I really look forward to the day players might say what’s honestly on their mind. Instead, we some how dumbed ourselves and our minds into saying the usual safe thing, lose the next game, smile, and then repeat that nonsense again.”
What’s Next for Mumbai Indians?
MI could only win thrice in 8 games. This lands them in an unfavorable 7th position on the table with just 6 points in hand. They will have to win every single match from now on to have a chance to compete in the playoffs. They will now travel to Delhi to face the home team on April 27.
