Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns At WrestleMania?: WWE’s Royal Rumble 2024 Premium Live Event is in the books and we have our two headliners for the upcoming WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, PA.
The Women’s Royal Rumble match opened the show and saw many surprises and returns, from the return of Naomi to WWE to TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace making an appearance to Jade Cargill making her WWE debut.
But it was Bayley, who entered at #3 in the match and lasted for over 63 minutes who won the match, last eliminating Liv Morgan.
On the Men’s side of things, the Rumble was relatively surprise-less, apart from the return of Andrade to WWE. Here, Cody Rhodes became the first WWE Superstar since ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin 26 years ago to win the Royal Rumble two years in a row.
But who will these Superstars challenge at the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All’l?

Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns At WrestleMania?
For The American Nightmare, the answer is pretty simple. After winning the Rumble, Cody pointed directly towards Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns sitting in the sky-box.
After winning the 2023 Royal Rumble, Rhodes challenged Reigns at WrestleMania 39. Looking to ‘finish his story’ by winning the WWE Championship his father Dusty Rhodes never did, Cody was looking to finally step out of the shadow of his legendary father. Alas! The Bloodline made sure that Reigns would retain that night in what might be the biggest shock in WrestleMania history.
But Cody Rhodes has one more chance, another shot at greatness when he WILL take on Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 and finish the Tribal Chief’s historic 3+ year title reign.
Who Will Bayley Challenge At WrestleMania?
As for Bayley, the decision is not yet made. She has two (potentially three) champions she can challenge at WrestleMania. Let’s get the obvious out of the way. Despite being shown that it is a possibility back in 2020, Royal Rumble winner Bayley will not challenge for Lyra Valkyria’s NXT Women’s Championship. While there is a slight possibility of it happening, there has been no indication that the Damage CTRL founder has even the slightest interest in doing so.
Then comes the Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley. While Bayley is on SmackDown, Ripley is on RAW. But that has not stopped the Rumble winners of the fore from challenging the champion of the other brand.
This would be an exciting match-up. Bayley’s Damage CTRL teammates, which include Dakota Kai, WWE Women’s tag champs the Kabuki Warriors, and WWE Women’s Champion Iyo Sky, would definitely want Bayley to defeat Rhea and bring all the gold in their faction.
But it seems we are on a completely different collision course for Rhea Ripley, as former WrestleMania main-eventer Becky Lynch is the current favorite to challenge the Aussie for the title.
Then comes WWE Women’s Champion Iyo Sky, Bayley’s Damage CTRL teammate. Recently, there has been some tiff between the Role Model and her teammates. Especially the Japanese trio of Sky, Asuka, and Kairi Sane have been showing her the cold shoulder.
The story is right there, Bayley could break from the shackles of the group she created and challenge Iyo Sky for her title, turning babyface for the first time in about five years.
While the ‘Road To WrestleMania’ has just begun, we have clear paths for our Rumble winners to the ‘Showcase of the Immortals’.
