Chepauk Stadium To Host IPL 2024 Opening Ceremony: Chepauk Stadium, aka MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, is gearing up for the opening ceremony of the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League.
The opening match of IPL 2024 will be played between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22. As the defending champions, CSK will play the opening match of the tournament at their home ground, the Chepauk.
Before the match starts at 8 PM on Friday night, the stadium will host the opening ceremony for the tournament, with stars and celebrities entertaining the almost 40000 fans in the arena and millions watching from their homes.

Recently, a video surfaced online showing Chepauk being drowned in lights and music. This is the preparation for the opening ceremony which is now just a couple of days away.

The opening ceremony has been a massive part of the IPL experience since its inception. The idea behind IPL of bringing glitz and glamour to cricket makes the opening ceremony a crucial event for the league each year.
Names that have been reported as being part of the opening ceremony are – Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, and legendary singers AR Rahman and Sonu Nigam.
Almond with the starts, the two teams, Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore will also be present. This means that two of the biggest stars in Indian cricket – Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni will also be present at the ceremony.
