Charles Oliveira Return Fight Announced: A return fight for Charles Oliveira has been announced as the Brazilian Lightweight will take on fellow Lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan at the monumental UFC 300 card. In other news, Dustin Poirier will take on Benoit Saint-Denis in the co-main event of UFC 299.
Charles Oliveira Return Fight Announced
Charles Oliveira lost against Islam Makhchev for the vacant UFC Lightweight Championship at UFC 280. Since then, he defeated Beneil Dariush t become to the #1 ranked in his division. But his rematch against Mahachev at UFC 294 was canceled due to injuries received during training.
On the other hand, Arman Tsarukyan entered the Top 5 ranking for Lightweights after defeating Beneil Dariush at a UFC on ESPN event on December 2, 2023. He will now face Oliveira for the #1 Contendership of the Lightweight title that Islam Makhachev currently holds.

As for the Poirier-Sain Denis fight, Dustin Poirier is currently the #3 ranked Lightweight fighter, last challenged for the title at UFC 269 in a losing cause, back when Charles Oliveira was the champ. Since then, he defeated Michael Chandler at UFC 281 via submission but lost to Justin Gaethje via KO at UFC 291. He will now be looking to improve his standing in the division with a win over Saint-Denis.
Speaking of Benoit Saint-Denis, the French Southpaw has been undefeated since moving to Lightweight in June 2022. Since then, he has won four Fight Night bouts against low-level opponents before defeating Matt Frevola at UFC 295. Currently ranked #12 in the Lightweight rankings, Benoit will be looking to become a serious contender for the title as soon as possible.

The matches announced for UFC 300 are as follows – Charles Oliveira vs Arman Tsarukyan for the #1 Contendership for the Lightweight title, a Light Heavyweight bout between Jiri Prochazka and Aleksandar Rakic, former Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling will make his Featherweight debut against Calvin Kattar, and undefeated Middleweight Bo Nickal will take on Cody Brundage.
