In the match, Patidar played some spectacular shots, and according to Lee, the 30-year-old could be mistaken for Kohli if he was watched from the screen.
“Also, if you were to turn on your device right now, you would assume that is Kohli,” he said while commenting on the match.
Lee is astonished by a cover drive Patidar played against Mukesh Kumar in the match. His 52 off 32 balls is the fifth half-century of the tournament. Patidar, who recently made his test debut for India, is finding form in the shortest format of the game as well.
“It’s his fifth half-century this season; we know he has played Tests, but he needed some time to find his groove. However, what’s really amazing is that he played that cover drive. I mean, that’s about as good as it gets. It’s pleasing to see that he has found his form. Well, maybe it can go on,” Lee added.
With the win, Bengaluru has 12 points from 13 matches. Their five out of six wins in the competition have been consecutive. The team that was at the bottom of the table finally found its rhythm and is now hoping for a playoff spot, even though they will have to rely on other results.
RCB will test their strengths against the defending champions, CSK, on May 18 at their home stadium.
