Brett Lee Accuses KL Rahul of Opening Slowly: Australia’s former pace sensation Brett Lee accuses Lucknow Super Giants skipper and opener KL Rahul of not being quick enough to score runs in the IPL 2024. In the last match against KKR, LSG lost by a massive 98 runs and put their playoff chances in jeopardy.
Brett Lee Accuses KL Rahul of Opening Slowly
Lee, who was one of the best fast bowlers of his time, thinks that there is a gap between LSG and KKR openers. While KKR openers start to hit runs from the first bowl, Lee thinks that KL is a slow starter, and this brings a lot of pressure to the batters who come after him.
“I believe there is an obvious gap between the two opening batters on both teams. KKR are rocking it. They get going from the first ball and score runs. On the other side, you have KL, who starts with a run-a-ball and puts a lot of pressure on his own teammates. We observed four games, and I chose KL Rahul here. He started with a strike rate of 129, upped it to 150, and then returned to say, ‘Well, yeah, you know the bowlers did a great job.’ I believe he is under a lot of strain because he hasn’t scored as many runs as he needs to,” claimed Lee.
KL Rahul used to bat down the order before, and opening for LSG not only invited criticisms over his pace at scoring runs but also cost him a place in the India squad for the T20 World Cup 2024.
Where Does LSG Stand on the IPL 2024 Points Table?
