Brad Haddin opines on Virat vs Rohit Captaincy: Comparisons between captains aren’t new in cricket. Once it was between Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni, or Saurav Ganguli and MS Dhoni, now their predecessors are getting compared to one another. Comparison between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma on their captaincy is one of the hot topics in Indian cricket. The latest one is from former Australian cricketer Brad Haddin.
Brad Haddin opines on Virat vs Rohit Captaincy
Brad Haddin was on the LiSTNER podcast the other day and drew a comparison between King Kohli and the Hitman. The Australian thinks that Virat set high standards in the camp, and players started to be more motivated and better on the field under his regimen.
“Virat was charged up and maintained high standards as a captain. He led from the front and made sure he was the first one to be a part of a practice to motivate other players. The Indian team became a better fielding side, ” Brad Haddin said
‘The focus on fitness increased, and the players started taking fielding seriously. And when they were up against teams like Australia, they didn’t hold back. He changed the way cricket was played in India,” Haddin continued
Haddin sees Rohit Sharma as more of a tactical captain. He said that Rohit has the capability to bring the best out of players in all conditions.
“Rohit is tactically a good captain. He has achieved a lot of success in IPL. The players play for him, and he is gets the best out of the players in all the conditions,” he said.
Rohit Sharma will tie his pads as just a batter for the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming IPL 2024 since he was sacked from a captaincy after the arrival of Hardik Pandya to the team.
Virat, on the other hand, will try to finish the trophy drought that has been daunting the Royal Challengers Bangalore since the launch of the league.
