Best Bowling Figures In IPL 2024: The 2024 season of the Indian Premier League was a memorable one, maybe not so for the bowlers. This year’s league saw the most runs being scored in a season by far.
It seems like certain teams cracked the code for run-scoring this year, as a score of 200+ runs was a common occurrence. In fact, teams crossed the 250-run mark on eight occasions in IPL 2024, whereas it was done only twice in the 16 seasons before.
In what was a very batter-friendly season, bowlers who took consistent wickets were worth their weight in gold. And while taking the most wickets in the league is fantastic, having the best bowling figures in the league is a sign of true dominance for a bowler, even if it is for just a match.
So, here are the bowlers with the best bowling figures in IPL 2024:

5) Tushar Deshpande
In a season where most bowlers had some of their worst IPl seasons, Tushar Deshpande improved dramatically and considerably to become not only one of the best bowlers for the Chennai Super Kings but also one of the better Indian prospects in the league.
Although Deshpande took a lot of wickets last season, his economy was near 10. This season, he brought it down to below 9 rpo. He also took 17 wickets this time around, with a strike rate below 17.
His best bowling performance this season came against runner-up Sunrisers Hyderabad. In a match where CSK utterly demolished SRH in the Chepauk, Tushar played a big role and ended with the figures of 4/27 in just three overs.

T Natarajan was also in the top five list of the highest wicket-takers in IPL 2024. He took 19 wickets this season and was a major piece of the puzzle for the Sunrisers’ trip to the final.
Having had his best statistical IPL season so far, no match was a better showcase of Natarajan’s left-arm wizardry than SRH’s game against the Delhi Capitals in Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium.
As Best Bowling Figures In IPL 2024, In that game, Natarajan gave up only 19 runs in four overs and ended the game with the figures of 4/19, leading his team to victory.

Yash Thakur did not have the best IPL season in 2024, taking only 11 wickets in 10 matches with an economy of 11.32. He was a part of a very lukewarm Lucknow Super Giants bowling attack.
Despite that, he took the season’s first five-wicket haul when LSG took on the Gujarat Titans in Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium.
While defending a low target (for this season) of 164, LSG bowled GT out for 130, with Thakur’s figures of 5/30 making him the Player of the Match.

2) Jasprit Bumrah
Despite him not winning the Purple Cap, calling Jasprit Bumrah the best bowler of IPL 2024 would not be a controversial take. This season, he took 20 wickets for the Mumbai Indians with a frugal economy of 6.48. He was also the best performer on his team.
Bumrah’s best bowling performance this season came against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Even though RCB put up a score of 196 while batting first, Bumrah ended with an incredible figure of 5/21, just showing why he is considered by many to be the best bowler in the world. MI would end up winning that match, and Jasprit Bumrah was named the Player of the Match.
1) Sandeep Sharma
One of the biggest surprises of the IPL 2024 was how good Sandeep Sharma was for the Rajasthan Royals. While he missed several games during RR’s dominance in the first half of the season, he made his return to the team in style.
Against the Mumbai Indians in Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Sandy broke MI’s back with the figures of 5/18, helping restrict the five-time champs to 179. RR won that match with relative comfort, and Sandeep Sharma was named the Player of the Match.
