With the help of Zaman’s innings, Pakistan achieved their highest-ever ODI total of 399/1, surpassing their previous best of 385/7 against Bangladesh in 2010.
Fakhar and Imam-ul-Haq opened with 304 runs for the first wicket, the highest opening partnership in ODI history. This partnership surpassed the previous record of 286 runs set by Sanath Jayasuriya and Upul Tharanga in 2006. With this innings, Zaman became the sixth player in ODI history to reach a double hundred and the first from Pakistan. It was also his second century of the series.
