Shanto said that if there are any discussions regarding this with the ‘interim head’ the players will back Shakib.
“Shakib bhai’s matter is a different issue. Every player will support him. We know about his passion and dedication to the game. He always thinks about the team first, and if the murder case issue is discussed with the interim head, every player will be on Shakib’s side.”
The complaint against Shakib and other 146 people was filed by Rafiqul Islam for the murder of his son during the unrest that happened in Bangladesh. The accused includes their former prime minister Sheikh Haseena who had to leave the country after getting the information that the protesters might attack her residence.

Bangladesh recently created history by winning their first Test match, as well as the Test series in Pakistan in history. Their 2-0 sweep even during the unrest happening in the country has been commendable. Shakib says that it’s India next on their list as their team will start a 2-match Test series against the WTC leaders from 19 this month. They will also play a 3-match T20 series in India.
“Players are confident after terrific performance against Pakistan. The series against India will not be easy for anyone, and we need a new plan to counter them. If we give our best performance, we can achieve results,” he concluded.
