Babar Azam Having Fun During Practice: Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam shared a light moment with wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan as the former ran after the latter with bat in hand during the national team’s practice session.

In a video that recently went viral, the Pakistan team can be seen playing a practice match. During the match, Babar Azam, on strike, casually left the crease after playing a ball to discuss something with the non-striker. Rizwan, who had the ball, whew it at the stumps and appealed for a run-out.

A similar incident happened earlier this year but on a much larger stage. In the second Test match of The Ashes in Summer 2023, English batter Johnny Bairstow left the crease in a similar manner before the ball was dead. Playing for a match on the fifth day, Australian keeper Alex Carey threw the ball at the stumps and appealed for a run-out. Within the laws of the game, Bairstow was given out and England went on to lose that game.
As per the Babar Azam Having Fun During Practice, While being within the laws, it was a very controversial dismissal. The English media ripped into Carey and the Australian side, bringing out the tried-and-tested talking point of the ‘spirit of the game’.
