Australian Cricket Awards 2025 Full list: Travis Head won his maiden Allan Border Medal at the Australian Cricket Awards 2025 ceremony that was held on Monday, February 3.
Head was the front-runner to win this medal by a large distance. He earned 208 votes in total, which was 61 more than Pat Cummins and 50 more than Josh Hazlewood.
Head is with the Australian Test team in Galle and received the medal from head coach Andrew McDonald. Head is the first South Australian to clinch this medal. He was also named the Men’s ODI Player of the Year.
The left-hander has had a staggering time across formats in the last 12 months. He scored 1427 runs across all three formats in the 12-month polling period. The next best was Steve Smith with 806 runs. He was the leading run-scorer in the BGT 2024/25, helping Australia win back the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after 10 years.
When asked what was the highlight of his year, Head said,
“I feel like the Indian series, the Test series that’s just gone. Nice to contribute. It’s such a big five or six weeks.”
Annabel Sutherland wins the Belinda Clark Award
For 23-year-old all-rounder Annabel Sutherland, this is her first Belinda Clark Award. Sutherland tipped the scales in her favor with her 163 at the MCG recently in the one-off Test match against England women. She became the first woman to score a Test century at the MCG. In February last year, Sutherland played a marathon knock of 210 in the Test against South Africa at the WACA.
“For me, I love batting, probably my Test record shows that, and I try and make the most of that when I get out in the middle,” Sutherland said.
Further, Sam Konstas, who had a sensational debut against India, was named the Bradman Young Men’s Cricketer of the Year, while the Betty Wilson Young Women’s Cricketer of the Year went to Chloe Ainsworth.
All-rounder Beau Webster bagged the Men’s Domestic Player of the Year award; the corresponding award in the women’s category went to Georgia Voll. Ashleigh Gardner was the Women’s ODI Player of the Year, and Head in the men’s category.
Pacer Josh Hazlewood was named the Shane Warne Men’s Test Player of the Year, and leg-spinner Adam Zampa claimed the Men’s T20I Player of the Year. Opener Beth Mooney was picked as the Women’s T20I Player of the Year.
Ellyse Perry and Jess Jonassen were named the WBBL Players of the Tournament, and the BBL Players of the Tournament were Cooper Connolly and Glenn Maxwell.
