AUS vs IND Dream11 Prediction BGT: The BGT 2024-25 is down to its last Test, the fifth Test, which will kick off on January 3rd, Friday, at the SCG in Sydney.
Australia have taken an unassailable 2-1 lead after their memorable victory in the 4th Test in Melbourne, where they won by 184 runs with about 13 overs left in the match. India were behind throughout the Test match but managed to fight back and keep themselves alive with inspiring individual performances until they collapsed in the last session on day 5.
Things have been on a downturn for India since their 295-run win in Perth. They were hammered by 10 wickets in Adelaide, dominated in the drawn Brisbane Test, and lost a competitive contest in Melbourne.
Though India have fluffed the opportunity to win their third consecutive Test series in Australia, there’s still loads to play for for both teams.
The Border-Gavaskar Trophy remains up for grabs, and so is a place in the ICC WTC 2023-25 final. India will need a win in Sydney to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and keep themselves alive in the race to the WTC final. Australia are desperate to beat India in a Test series, something they haven’t done since the 2014/15 home series. A win for Australia at the SCG will take them to a second consecutive WTC final.
Meanwhile, Australia have confirmed that Mitchell Marsh is dropped from the XI and will be replaced by the uncapped Beau Webster. For India, there is at least one change: Akash Deep is ruled out due to a stiff back. Prasidh Krishna and Harshit Rana are the other pacers in the squad. India might also consider bringing back Shubman Gill in the XI, in place of either Washington Sundar or Akash Deep. There are rumours of the possibility of Rishabh Pant also facing the axe.

Australia vs India pitch report:
The SCG is a bit of a dull pitch with not offering much to the bowlers. Four of the last six Tests here have been drawn. And India’s last three Tests here also ended in draws.
Since January 2015, batsmen have averaged a whopping 54 at the SCG, and bowlers have averaged 33. There is an incorrect perception that spinners get help at the SCG. Because of the lifeless, slow, and low pitch, bowlers aren’t able to force errors consistently throughout the Test match, even on day 5.
Australia vs India Dream11 Captaincy Prediction:
Australia batsman Steve Smith is a great Dream11 captaincy option for the 5th IND vs AUS Test match at this home ground in Sydney. He has a terrific record at the SCG: in 11 Tests in Sydney, Smith has hit four centuries and seven fifties and averages 70. He has been unbelievably astonishing against India in Sydney—cracking two centuries and two fifties in two Tests and averaging 100.
