AUS vs ENG Match Highlights And Report-T20 WC: In the battle of the champions of the last two T20 World Cups, it were Australia who emerged victorious in Barbados, leaving defending champions England in a precarious position in terms of their qualification for Super 8 since their game against Scotland was washed out earlier. Australia, with two wins in two games, have all but secured their berth in the next round.
On a good pitch with small boundary dimensions at the Kensington Oval, Australia piled up the first 200+ total of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Then Adam Zampa and Pat Cummins starred with the ball to help Australia win by 36 runs.

Jos Buttler won the toss and elected to field first, but Head and Warner dominated the powerplay. In the second over, bowled by Will Jacks, they cracked three sixes and then, in the 4th over, took Wood for 22 runs. Moeen conceded 15 runs in the 5th over before castling Warner, who scored 39 (16). In the next over, Archer bowled Head (34 off 18) with a slower ball.
The attacks from Australia continued as Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell formed a terrific partnership of 65 (49), which included an 18-run over of Archer. Marsh was dismissed, stumped, by Livingstone for 35 (25) while Adil Rashid had Maxwell (28 off 25) holing at deep mid-wicket.
Marcus Stoinis provided the late impetus Australia needed by blasting 30 runs in 17 balls. Wade and Tim David’s cameos helped their side cross 200.

Similar to Australia, England also got off to a blazing start from Buttler and Phil Salt, the pair smashing 73 runs in 43 balls. The most expensive over of the powerplay came from Starc, in which he leaked 13 runs. Right after the powerplay, Starc was thumped for 19 runs.
Soon after, Zampa changed the course of the match. First, he had Salt bowled on the first ball he sent down. In his second over, he dismissed Buttler as the England captain played a reverse sweep straight to the point fielder. Buttler remained England’s top scorer with 42 runs, as none of the other batters could play a big knock that would help their side win.
Once both openers were gone, Australia mounted pressure and collected wickets regularly. England went from 73/0 to 128/5 and the Aussies had virtually sealed the game by then. Cummins dismissed Moeen and Livingstone. Zampa bagged the Man of the Match for his 2/28, which included the wickets of the two England openers.
Score summary: Australia 201/7 in 20 overs (David Warner 39, Chris Jordan 2/44); England 165/6 in 20 overs (Jos Buttler 42, Pat Cummins 2/23). Australia defeated England by 36 runs.
