AUS Takes Lead In 1st Session Of Day 2 Vs IND: Australia has taken the lead on Day Two of the second Australia vs India Test match and now looks to be in the driving seat for this game.
India is taking on Australia in the second Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Adelaide Oval. It is a day/night match and is being played with a pink ball. The first session of Day Two has just concluded as the teams take a lunch break.

The day started with the Aussies being at 86/1 in 33 overs with Nathan McSweeney playing at 38 and Marnus Labuschagne batting at 20. Jasprit Bumrah took the only wicket for the Men in Blue on Day One, dismissing Usman Khawaja for 13.
The start of the day was positive for India, as just in his second over of the day, Bumrah struck again, bowling back of a length as the ball clipped McSweeney’s bat and went straight into keeper Rishabh Pant’s gloves, 91/2.
After a few overs, the ace pacer picked his third wicket of the inning. He bowled down the leg side to an out-of-form Steve Smith, who looked to flick the ball but just grazed it with his bat. Pant took the catch again as Smith’s bad run of form continued, 103/3.
But from this point, the Kangaroos batted India out of the game, as Labuschagne, along with Travis Head, who has become a headache for India in the past two years, stood firm at the crease.

First, Marnus completed his 50, then, the team went past the 150-run mark. Just 12 runs short of India’s score of 180, Marnus Labuschagne became Nitish Kumar Reddy’s first Test wicket. Batting at 64, the 30-year-old looked to cut the ball but played it too fine and was caught in the slips by Yashasvi Jaiswal, 168/4.
Despite semi-regular wickets, Australia was able to take the lead in this game, with Travis Head reaching his 50 in the process.
On the second-to-last over of the session, bowled by Ravichandran Ashwin, Mitchell Starc, batting at zero, caught the ball at his pads as the Indians appealed. The umpire did not raise his finger, so the decision was reviewed. In the replay, the ball looked to have hit the pad first, seeing how it moved towards the bat after hitting, but due to “no conclusive evidence,” the decision stayed.
And thus, the session ended without another wicket falling and the score being 191/4. Pat Cummins’ men will now look to construct a massive lead in the first inning of the second India vs Australia Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
