Joao Felix is currently playing for Barcelona on loan. The Portuguese decided to try a different team after falling off with ATK coach Diego Simeone. This is when Barcelona knocked on the door with a loan offer. Atletico decided to loan the player, and for Joao, it was a dream come true. The player publicly expressed his excitement about playing for Barcelona and criticized Simone’s coaching style. This didn’t go well with the fans, as they took it as disrespectful.
Things escalated further when Atletico met Barca earlier in the season. Joao Felix scored for Barcelona and celebrated with joy, which also made the Madrid fans furious. As both teams again met on Sunday, ATK fans didn’t forget to act on their rage by setting the player’s jersey on fire and spitting on his plaque.
