R Ashwin is a legend of the game. He has been playing cricket for a long time. He has known the generations the Indian team has gone through. Recently, in an interview, Ashwin revealed the troubleshooter, the go-to person for Team Indian whenever the team was in trouble.
Ashwin Reveals the Problem Solver of Team India
According to Ashwin, it was Rahul Dravid whom the decision-makers used to turn to whenever India needed help. The coach who recently led India to the T20 World Cup glory, the first one in 11 years since the Champions Trophy win in 2013, was a problem solver back then as well as when he was a player.
“My moment was when Virat Kohli called up Rahul Dravid to take the World Cup trophy. I saw David crying and hugging the trophy. In 2007, he was the Indian captain of the ODI team that failed in the World Cup, and Rahul left the post. He has been with the Indian team. Whenever India performs poorly or lose a match, the decision makers look for Dravid to find the solution.”
“I know what he did with the team in the past 2-3 years. I know what he has given to each player by closely working with them. Even at home, he has been planning to make things work.”
