Anil Kumble Gives Advice to Hardik Pandya: Hardik Pandya made a shocking move to the Mumbai Indians, replacing MI captain Rohit Sharma just before the IPL 2024. This had made Rohit fans furious and trolling Hardik ever since on social media, disregarding the cricketing side of it.
Last Sunday, MI met GT, which was Hardik’s last team, and lost a winnable match. Mumbai just needed 43 runs in the final 5 overs while having 7 wickets in hand. But MI batters irresponsibly threw away their wickets, and MI eventually lost the game by 6 runs.
Hardik came to bat in the 7th position, contrary to his batting position in the GT, which is usually 4. When he came to the crease, MI needed 25 runs from the 12 balls remaining. He hit a six and a four to start the final over but got out after that.
Anil Kumble Gives Advice to Hardik Pandya
Former spinner Anil Kumble gave some advice to captain Hardik ahead of Mumbai’s second match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 27. Kumble thinks that Hardik should bat higher up the order.
“Mumbai Indians were in a strong position in their first match, needing just 43 runs in the final 5 overs with 7 wickets remaining, however, they let the chase go too deep. Hardik Pandya should bat higher up the order, since in T20 cricket your target is really 19 overs when chasing, not 20. Mumbai will hopefully learn from the mistakes made in their opening game”, said Kumble.
