Anil Kumble took to X, previously known as Twitter, to laud Ashwin for his tremendous achievement. He called the Aswhin ‘a champion par excellence’ which would mean a lot to the spinner.

Ashwin had recently reached another milestone of clinching 500 wickets in Test cricket. Currently, he is at 507 from a total of 99 Test matches with an average of 23.91. 35 five-wicket hauls and eight 10-wicket hauls are included in his spectacular resume.

Ashwin also broke Anil Kumble’s record for most wickets in home Tests, bagging 350 wickets.
