Abhishek Sharma Summoned By Gujarat Police: Sunrisers Hyderabad player Abhishek Sharma has recently been summoned by the Gujarat Police over the apparent suicide of aspiring model Tania Singh.
Tania, who was 28-years-old, took her own life on Tuesday, February 20. Singh has been pursuing a career in modeling for the past one-and-a-half years and was a resident of Happy Elegance Apartment on Vesu Road in Surat.
Gujarat Tak has reported that the police have initiated a search to discover the circumstances that led to her death.
As part of the ongoing investigation, Gujarat Police has discovered the name of the SRH player Abhishek Sharma and his connection to Tania and the case.

The police have now summoned Sharma for preliminary questioning to shed some light on his relationship with Singh. During their investigation, police discovered that Tania was in contact with the cricketer, which prompted the authorities to bring in the 23-year-old for questioning.
While the following might just be speculation, sources close to the investigation have reported that Tania Singh’s call records might reveal crucial information regarding the case. It is also being said that the last call made from her phone was to Sharma. That means the police might be looking at this suicide as being linked to a love affair.
Abhishek Sharma has been one of the most promising young players in the IPL. Known to be an aggressive batter and a part-time bowler, Sharma scored 426 in 2022. However, he did not perform as well in 2023, where he scored only 226 runs in 11 matches.
