Kolpp Told Fans Will Forget His Red Bull Move in a Month: Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was told that his decision to become the head of football at Red Bull is good for him.
Klopp, who stepped down from the managerial post of Liverpool by the end of the 2023–24 season, had said that he would stay away from the sidelines of football pitches.
But recently he announced his joining with Red Bull as the Head of Football to advise and strategize for the clubs owned by the company. This infuriated Liverpool fans and some fans back in Germany.
Many claimed Klopp ‘sold his soul’ to a corporate giant, and his philosophy was all just hypocrisy.
Klopp later came to social media to clarify the situation.
Kolpp Told Fans Will Forget His Red Bull Move Controversy in a Month
Now, the UCL-winning manager is backed by Christian Falk, the head of football at German tabloid BILD. Falk opined that eventually fans will forget everything by a month or so.
“I have been working on the story since May, but Jurgen always hesitated—he wasn’t sure he wanted to make that step. He won’t have to work so hard as he did at Liverpool. He won’t have to watch football every day.
“It is true it is controversial. There is a big discussion in Germany at the moment about ‘has he sold his soul?’
“I would say no, because Leipzig is a big club. Of course it is hard in particular for Dortmund fans because there were big fights and they have always said it is a tinpot club – it is not traditional.
“But, by the end, after say a month or so, it will die down. The love for Jurgen Klopp in this country means he can almost do anything.”
Klopp will start his job with the company in January 2025.
