3 Records Virat Kohli Owns Against CSK: IPL broadcaster Star Sports has dropped a poster featuring Virat Kohli ahead of Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s mega-clash against the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024.
RCB will face CSK in Match 68 of IPL 2024 on May 18 in Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Not only is this one of the most high-profile games this season based on the teams involved in it, but the stakes also make this game arguably the biggest league game this season.
RCB got off to a dismal start to the tournament, losing seven out of eight of their matches at the start. But since then, the team captained by Faf du Plessis has won five games in a row and has come right into contention for the playoffs. Currently, with 12 points in 13 games, they can reach 14 points if they win their final league game.
On the other hand, CSK is already on 14 points and will go to 16 if they win their next match. The calculations are that if RCB defeats CSK by 18 or more runs or chases the target down in 18.1 overs, the Bengaluru-based franchise will overtake the five-time champions on the table on account of a superior net run rate.
With stakes as high as this one, fans are positively salivating for this contest. The broadcasters, too, are doing their best to hype this game up.

Star Sports took to social media to release a poster for the game featuring Virat Kohli. The poster highlights Kohli’s stats against CSK in the IPL. There are three stats shown in the poster. The first is that Kohli has scored nine 50s against the Super Kings; the second states that he has 567 runs against CSK as captain; and the third is that Virat has scored 1006 runs against CSK, the second most for any player.
There is also a world where both RCB and CSK qualify for the playoffs. Currently sixth and third on the table, respectively, if the Royal Challengers win their match against CSK and Sunrisers Hyderabad (on fourth) lose both their matches, RCB and CSK will finish third and fourth in the table.
Kolkata Knight Riders are currently first on the league table with 19 points in 13 games, while the Rajasthan Royals are second with 16 points in 12 games.
