3 Player Battles in KKR vs SRH Qualifier 1: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will contest a mouth-watering clash on Tuesday night in Ahmedabad in the Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2024. They are the two quickest-scoring teams in the season, so Qualifier 1 is expected to be a high-scoring game since it will be played at a neutral venue.
KKR finished the league stage at the top of the points table with 20 points. The second-placed SRH accumulated 17 points, the same as Rajasthan Royals (RR), but SRH had a better net run rate than RR.
Both teams boast some of the most destructive batters in IPL 2024. So there are a few exciting match-ups to look forward to.

3 Player Battles in KKR vs SRH Qualifier 1
Sunil Narine and Rahmanullah Gurbaz vs Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Narine is a strong contender for winning the Player of the Tournament award. He’s scored 461 runs so far at a strike rate of 182 and has picked up 15 wickets at an economy of 6.63. Among the batters who have scored over 400 runs, Narine has the third-best strike rate. So it’s crucial for SRH to dismiss him early.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, one of the most prominent new-ball pacers in the world, will be tasked with this challenge. He’s done well in the past against Narine in the powerplay overs, conceding 31 runs in 34 balls with one dismissal.
Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz is expected to open alongside Narine as Phil Salt has left for England duties. Bhuvneshwar has an excellent record against Gurbaz: two wickets in four balls.
Head, Abhishek vs Narine, Chakravarthy
The contest between SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma against KKR spinners Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy could well be the match-defining clash. Head and Abhishek have been in marauding form, but both of them will be challenged by the in-form duo of Narine and Chakravarthy.
One way the two mystery spinners can keep the two SRH openers quiet would be to bowl well outside the off-stump and ask them to either fetch it from there on the leg side or look to go over covers.

Heinrich Klaasen vs Andre Russell
In the previous KKR vs SRH encounter at Eden Gardens earlier this season, Andre Russell made a huge impact with the ball by taking two important wickets. However, he didn’t get to bowl much to Klaasen, who smashed 63 off 29, but SRH still lost by four runs.
Klaasen is dominant against spin and left-arm pace. So KKR can keep a couple of overs of Russell only for the South African. Russell’s hard lengths and bumpers could trouble Klaasen.
